About Us

We're Friends of Fostering Carmarthenshire — and we know what it's like to open your home to a child who needs one.

Our Story
The idea began the way a lot of good ideas do: carers talking to each other about what would have made a difference. We looked at how similar support existed for fostering families elsewhere, and realised Carmarthenshire didn't have one yet. So we built it.
Think of us as something like a school PTA, but for fostering families across the whole county: independent of the council, funded by grants and community support the council can't access directly, and entirely focused on filling the gaps that statutory funding was never designed to reach.

who we are
We're a board of six foster carers. We're a registered Community Interest Company — which means everything we raise is locked into supporting fostering families here, by law, for as long as we exist. Every decision we make is shaped by carers who are doing this alongside you.

What we do
We exist to make life better, day to day, for looked-after children and the families who care for them — and to help build a fostering community in Carmarthenshire that carers want to be part of for the long term.
